MDG 6 COMBAT HIV/AIDS and PREVENTABLE DISEASES
Discussions pertaining to MDG 6 and specific countries, organizations, groups or individuals that work towards this goal will take place here. As delineated by the United Nations, the sixth Millennium Development Goal is: To Combat HIV/AIDS, Malaria & Other Diseases by 1) Halting HIV/AIDS by 2015 and beginning to reverse the spread thereof, 2) Achieving universal access to treatment for HIV/AIDS for all those who need it, and 3) Halting by 2015 and beginning to reverse the incidence of malaria and other major diseases.

Recently The Gambia planned to renew their efforts in polio prevention with a second round of immunizations starting April 29th, which should currently be in its third day. As was mentioned in a previous blog post the first round of polio immunizations took place on the 25th to 28th of March.
