Supported by the company Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd, and organised by ChangeFusion Nepal, the country celebrated recently social entrepreneurs and change makers.
On Friday 28th March, social entrepreneurs were awarded in Nepal. Prior to the government that has identified the promotion of SMEs as the gateway of the country socio-economic development, maximization of revenue potential from tourism and strengthening the social and community forestry programs.
Change Fusion Nepal (CFN), the brilliant organization that the UCP SARnet is currently building partnership with, has pioneered and instituted an annual Social Entrepreneurship Award in collaboration with a Local responsible company Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd. There are many ordinary people doing extraordinary work to create social, environmental and economic value in the country and often, people do not even know about their great achievements. The event brings those hidden heroes out to the public, awards the best ventures and gives to all of the applicants the opportunity to join their network and promote their products or services.
The event showcases the ideas and products of social entrepreneurs through presentations, Seminars and Award. All of them aim at recognizing and promoting those who create value for people, planet and those who becoming job creators instead of job seekers. Five entrepreneurs among a large number of nominees engaged in different enterprises and the development of society as well as focusing on employment generation and sustainability. The event serves not only to award and recognize the "Hidden Heroes" in the field of social entrepreneurship but also aims to help the winners reach a larger number of stakeholders investors, new consumers and policy makers, enabling them to scale up their venture in the future.
CFN was founded in 2008, and is the first private organization in the country providing a platform to help local youth direct their vision and skills towards the population through social entrepreneurship. The organization aspires to steer the creative and constructive energy of the Nepali youth towards the initiatives that support their communities by social, economic, and environmental issues through business. CFN has the vision to support, empower and promote innovative social enterprises to create long lasting socio-economic benefit in the country.
