As we announced this at the end of the year, we have been working on improving the organizational structure of our Leadership Team. The major change is in dividing the Team into the Board of Directors and Executive Team. Please visit the page International Leadership Team to see the result of this work and to meet the new team.
The Board of Directors is composed of senior faculty, experienced community activists and UCP-SARnet's "veterans". The Board of Directors, with the support of Advisory Board, will make strategic decisions regarding UCP-SARnet development and projects, as well as supervise activities of the Executive Team.
Executive Team is composed of undergraduate and graduate students (volunteers and interns), representing various ASU units responsible for coordinating everyday activities of the network, monitoring and supervising realization of featured projects, and facilitating collaboration with Knowledge Partners and Organizational Members. Editorial Board (responsible for editing newspaper, documents, publications and media) and ICT Team (responsible for maintenance of the website) are also parts of the Executive Team.
On January 16 we had the first meeting ot the new team devoted mostly to introductions and brief discussion on the tasks and challenges we have to meet this year. On January 23 the Board of Directors met to discuss plan for organization of the EmPeace LABS 2013 workshop, organization of ICT Learning Center in Ghana (and shipment of computers that have been waiting to be sent to Ghana), as well as some clarifications of UCP-SARnet mission, vision and values. The Executive Team met with Biorn Petereson, new coordinator of the Team, to discuss individual responsibilities of team members. Below there are some photos from these meetings.
