Meeting Purpose: Update on Dr. Wosinski’s meetings this week and discussing our fundraising ideas.
Date: January 20, 2012
Time: 9am – 11am
We began this meeting looking over the finalized list of new responsibilities for each of the members, next week we will have a working meeting so that all members can be certain of their tasks and how to go about completing these tasks.
Updates of Dr. Wosinski's Meetings this Week
On January 16, Dr. Marek Wosinski and Osee Romeo Tcheupgoum met with Dr. Patrick Williams, Founder and CEO of Coaching the Global Village (CGV) to discuss details of the revised partnership between UCP-SARnet and CGV. This new form of collaboration should open for UCP-SARnet new avenues for finding financial support.
Dr. Wosinski and Osee Romeo also met with the following people to discuss plans for collaboration between UCP-SARnet, UN Foundation and World Bank.
Ms. L Davidson and Mr. Oliver Gordon, Senior Country Officers
Discussion on potential for collaboration between the World Bank and UCP-SARnet on Community projects in Cameroon.
Ms. Elizabeth Lule, Manager of the Regional Integration Department, Africa
Discussion on how to transfer experience gathered from collaboration on community projects from one African country to another.
Ms. Diana Walker, Director of Partnership Initiatives
Discussion on how the UN Foundation can further support UCP-SARnet's Projects.
Ms. Anita Sharma Manning, Director of Millennium Development Goals Initiatives
Discussion on how UCP-SARnet can contribute to further dissemination of knowledge about MDGs and how UN Foundation can support the network in this mission.
Each of the members present at the meeting then shared some ideas on how we can go about fundraising including where to find grants to apply for as well as possible fundraising events to hold. The Forks for Change club has already begun the fundraising process to host the campus-specific events this semester but UCP-SARnet as a whole will need to focus on fundraising on a project by project basis to support what is being accomplished by members around the Globe i.e. the Gandhi College of Social Work project and the Summits planned in China and Africa for 2012 and hopefully on a yearly basis thereafter.
We briefly discussed what we will be doing regarding disseminating information about the International Leadership Summit. The application form and details to apply are already up on the Global Interactions Website and all members will be emailed the flyers prepared to advertise for the event. Paypal and the Registration forms will be available on that website soon.
Our plans for the next few weeks of upcoming meetings were discussed and finally we closed with a reminder about the social event at Dr. Wosinski's House tonight.
