I would like to inform you that I resigned from the position of the Facilitator of UCP-SARnet effective January 17, 2014. This decision is a result of challenges I have been facing because of aging, health problems, as well as personal issues I recently encountered.
This is an opportunity to express my gratitude to all of you who committed time, energy and creativity to build our network, here in the US and all around the world. I am fully aware that there is not enough of words to neither fully address all who have contributed to the development of our network, nor to describe their contribution. I will express this gratitude at any occasion we have a chance to meet or correspond.
Although the decision was not an easy one, in a sense it has been a good timing for such move. We have made together a long journey but it seems that after 7 years of constant growth our network reached a phase when its vision needs to be adjusted to current social needs and trends in social action. We are approaching post MDGs era that is setting new demands and opens new perspectives as well.
Such adjustment will require developing of a new strategic plan of action and this plan must be created by the younger generation of our leadership. On January 16, at the meeting of the Board of Directors, we elected a new Management Team that will lead the network from now on. The Team will be coordinated by Dr. Iris Drower and the members are Dr. Rimjhim Aggarwal, Dr. Barbara Klimek and Scott Bugental. Please view their profiles to reassure yourself that they have all credentials, experience and energy necessary to lead UCP-SARnet to a new phase of growth and achievement.
I think that this change of leadership is a great opportunity for each of you to offer support to the new Team by sharing your suggestions and creative ideas that could help to revise the mission of our community. Most importantly, the new team will need your commitment to realization of both the goals already implemented, as well as the new ones.
I will remain in the role of Advisory Board member, helping with guidance if needed, and being involved in specific tasks contingent on the amount of energy and time I will be able to offer.
I wish you a happy and successful year,
