Discussions pertaining to MDG 1 and specific countries, organizations, groups or individuals that work towards this goal will take place here. As delineated by the United Nations, the first Millennium Development Goal is: To Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger worldwide by 1) Halving between 1990 and 2015 the proportion of people whose income is less than $1 a day, 2) Achieving full and productive employment and decent work for all, including women and young people, and 3) Halving between 1990 and 2015 the proportion of people who suffer from Hunger.

A new member organization based in Sierra Leone that aims to help youth gain the opportunities and education needed to promote stability and peace in Africa.
The Youth Alliance for Justice and Peace is a relatively new non-governmental organization based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Its mission is to educate and promote positive self-confidence, tolerance and unity among Sierra Leone's youth. They aim to help eradicate poverty within Sierra Leone through rehabilitation services and public education, among other programs.
