Japan has begun to primarily teach English in classrooms. This educational launch goes along with MDG #2 which strives to achieve Universal primary education.
To many people in Japan, there has been an English deficit that needs to be rejuvenated and re-filled. The way they are starting this is by teaching primarily English in schools for children 10-12 years old.
This looks as if it will be a highly effective and successful program because there are goals already set that have been established for number of words children will learn by the time that they leave school.
This is a long term idea which will lead it to making an impact on MDG #2.
