EmPeace LABS 2013

EmPeace LABS Reflection
Community Psychology-Catherine Trujillo
The EmPeace LABS project is a creative method to bring about social change in the domains of agri-business, poverty, hunger, and sustainability. The LABS project aims to equip and educate leaders from regionally at-risk places. These places are particularly rural, suffering from the repercussions of natural disasters and previous internal and external conflicts. Rural and poor areas are particularly at risk from suffering the…
First of all I would like to acknowledge the participants of the EmPeace LABS 2013. Reading about their efforts in this program is commendable. Like Dr. Wosinski mentioned, the participants had to be very open-minded and humble to achieve what they did. It is hard to say if I would have been able to be as successful as these students were being in a country half way around the world. The experience and exposure the participants were able to get during their workshops are…
My initial reflection upon learning about the EmPeace LABS 2013 is that I feel so proud to see my school be a part of such an amazing project. In a way I feel sad that I personally had never heard about this great project that is happening in "my own back yard". To learn how many community leaders from countries all over the world are coming together in order to help agriculture and sustainability grow in their developing countries is just wonderful. If there is one thing I have…

To have multiple countries to break down borders and to come together is a beautiful sight to see. To have these people come together as one to be able to teach and learn from one another to create a better world is amazing.
The EmPeace LABS is a great project that they are having community leaders from all over sit through workshops and training to be able to learn how to grow agribusinesses as well as be educated on sustainability.
Community leaders were brought to Jalgaon to…
EmPeace LABS is incredible in what it is accomplishing, it is an organization that takes steps in completing the United Nations Millennium Developmental Goals. According to the newsletter it can be defined as, "a training and leadership program committed to building a strong foundation for global peace by preparing young professionals for leadership in agri-bussines and sustainability". In other words this program will give young people the skills necessary to become leaders and knowledge…

I really wanted to pay attention to what the EmPeace LABS was. What I discovered was that it is collaboration across borders to create a more sustainable and better life through learning from each other. Each place around the world has a specific talent shall we say. Something that they created that they can lend to other people to help develop their countries. Everywhere around the world has problems, they range from bad to worse but the point is everyone has something they need to grown in to…

Empowerment Peace Leadership is an empowering peace program that partnered with Gandhi Research Foundation to advance communities in India. Others that were involved were Arizona State University and Jain Irrigation systems Ltd. EmPeace Labs were created by all of these entities as a leadership and training program devoted to building a strong foundation for global peace. They got the work done promoting young professionals by joining agricultural and capacity-building organizations. EmPeace…
This was our second EmPeaceLabs (2013) and I believe it was a major step forward in our five-year project. The program was well-organized, focused, content rich, and provided all participants enough time to network, and build new relationships. There was a good balance between Gandhi Philosophy, Leadership Development Skills, Water Management, Food Production, and field trips to farms and energy production sites.
As always the evening cultural events were fun and allowed people to dance…
