The problem of leadership in Nigeria and Ebira land in particular can be associated with lack of commitment on the part of both the leaders and the led. In my own view the time has come for us to stop the blame game and find ways in which we can help our leaders to be that great leader we want them to be, to either deliver the dividend of democracy or help us improve our living standard. This is because the essence of “leadership in any polity is the recognition of real need, the uncovering and exploiting of contradictions among values and between values and practice, the realigning of values…The leader’s fundamental act is to induce people to be aware or conscious of what they feel – to feel their true needs so strongly, to define their values so meaningfully, that they can be moved to purposeful action.” (Macgregor Burns, 1978, p. 43).
Hence, building a prosperous society with progressive growth in all areas of their lives requires value driven leaders who are visionary and can translate such visions into developmental achievements for their followers, thereby empowering them in the process and ensuring an all inclusive leadership.

A TEXT PAPER PRESENTED BY
USTAZ DANJUMA MOHAMMED H.
FEDERAL CAPIAL TERRITORY ADMINISTRATION(FCTA),

It is a great pleasure to be invited to present this paper at this occasion. This event is important considering the challenge of good and all inclusive…
The paper is based largely on a desk review of existing policy documents and targeted interviews of key individuals within the MNKOAL as well as other actors perceived to be critical in determining the content and direction of national development and climate change policy. These include the Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Livestock Development, Vision 2030 Delivery Secretariat, Agricultural Sector Coordination Unity (ASCU), the Kenya Livestock Marketing Council (KLMC) and Pastoralists Parliamentary Group (PPG). Also included in the interviews were development partners and civil society organizations engaged in ASALs-related policy work.
The place and role of the arid and semi-arid lands (ASALs) of Kenya in national development, and lately, climate change adaptation, has been a matter of significant debate. The debate has revolved around the contribution of these lands to the national economy and development on the one hand, and the extent to which the populations living in these lands have benefitted from processes of national development to-date on the other hand. With the emergence of climate change as a major development…
