About

I am Silas N. Ngahane, a UCP SARnet Project Coordinator
Currently a Masters student at The Energy & Resource Institute (TERI) in New Delhi-India in Public Policy & Sustainable Development. For the past few years I’ve been working with the UCP SARnet and it’s been a great experience so far. In 2012, under UCP SARnet I was assigned in Ghana to assist the team there in implementing some community projects together with the University of Ghana and creating an E-learning center in ACCRA. The center to be an educational platform for communities where they are provided with online expertise both from the Arizona State University (ASU), Gandhi Research Foundation (GRF) & Jain Irrigation Systems Ltd (JISL), to help addressing specific growth issues in their respective environment. In 2013, assigned as a member of the International Organizational Committee for the organization of the Empowerment for Peace through Leadership in Agribusiness and Sustainability (EmPeaceLABS 2013) in Jalgaon-India, where I previously went through a four months training in design and implementation of Micro irrigation Systems and the JISL CSR , Gandhi Philosophy and Values. For the last 7 months, I worked to create UCP SARnet clubs at the University of Pokhara, the EmPeace LABS network outreach and collaboration with community development organizations in Nepal. Currently contributing as team member of international young leaders to set up a new network aimed at fostering collaboration among organizations/institutions for sustainable development (Global Network for Sustainable Development- GNSD) prior to the UN SDGs.
