ProThailand and International Education Programs share in a vision of empowering university students to make valuable contributions in Thailand through the study abroad volunteer program. The Semester in Thailand enhances students' global perspectives through a blend of academic coursework, field studies, and hands-on development project experience.
Program courses, taught by professors in English, offer authentic and insightful perspectives while deepening students' understanding of Thailand. Community development projects, field work, and adventure activities complement classes, creating an integrated program experience.
Programs are highly supported by an onsite staff team and welcoming community partners. ProWorld, founded in 1998, is a true leader in the fields of study abroad and international development.

Explore the links between public health and human rights, with a focus on women, children, tribal, and other marginalized and vulnerable populations in India.
This program studies the relationship between human rights and health in a field-study context. Students will analyze specific case studies that illuminate the problems, prospects, and potential methods of promoting health. Advocacy efforts for health and human rights on the national and international levels are also examined, while considering relevant international declarations such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural…

Dynamic and interactive academics are at the core of our programs, but also include hands-on-service learning in other cultures. Last year we worked with seven charitable organizations in four countries spending over 5,500 hours making the world a better place.
Discover the World: Europe
Imagine yourself spending 15 weeks living and studying in three different countries in one semester! With St. John's Discover the World program, you will spend five weeks each in Rome, Paris, and Salamanca. In each location, you will have the opportunity to engage the local community by working with St. John's unique service learning program. You have the choice of several types of volunteer work from teaching English to children in France to working in a soup…
This course is taught by Dr. James D. McGlothlin, a Faculty Scholar in the College of Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health Sciences at Purdue University. The 3-credit program comprises lectures, industry case studies, workshops, guest speakers, field excursions and travel throughout the most spectacular areas of China. It will provide students with a uniquely engaging and enriching way of learning about public health from an international perspective.

This program travels to London, to Amsterdam, and to Geneva to study how other nations deal with the care and treatment of the dying, rationing of health care resources, the care and treatment of the elderly, and assisted suicide. Students stay two weeks in London, and one week in each of the other countries. In all countries, lectures are given by persons in the field of health care. In Geneva there is a tour to the World Health Organization and other international organizations dealing with health care.

The Ghana program offers an opportunity for students to live and study in the heart of West Africa. Participants are totally integrated at the University of Ghana with native Ghanaians while experiencing the culture, learning about the country and making friends. You may enroll in a traditional African studies program or choose from a wide array of courses taught in English at the University of Ghana. Ten Half-Tuition Scholarships Awarded in Partnership with Diversity Abroad
Semester at Sea continues its Diversity Scholars program, which launched last year, by awarding 10 new scholarships. Five scholarships of $13,000 will be awarded for the fall semester. For summer, five scholarships of $6,500 will be awarded.
Semester at Sea is committed to maintaining affordability for our participants by awarding scholarships and work study grants directly to students. Types of financial assistance offered by ISE include need-based work grants, need-based monetary grants, and monetary grants based on a combination of need and merit. In the past two years we have increased student aid more than 100 percent which has allowed us to double the number of students receiving ISE aid.
