Produced out a culmination of many hours of dedication from Forks for Change members is an interview with formerly homeless Malcolm Banks, where he shares his experience of being in poverty in the past and how he got out. This video was screened at the Forgotten Faces of America event hosted by Forks for Change on October 18, 2011, where poets were invited to share their poetry about poverty and other social economic issues.

The Stand Up Event Scheduled forThusday Oct. 27th at ASU has been postponed. We would like to take the opportunity to make the event much bigger than initially planned. The new date and time for the event is Monday, November 7, 2011. Noise, and hence perfomances, are only allowed between 11:30am and 1pm at the MU. However, we'll be there 10am to 2pm to disseminate information.

DR. WOSINSKI TRIP TO CHINA: Dr. Wosinski is leaving for China later today. He is going to present a project of one of the UCP-SARnet members to potential investors. The project is an Ecovillage in Cameroon. Osee's family has a piece of land that they would like to turn into an environmental village so that people from all over can visit the region and experience visiting and living in Africa. On October 4th, 2011 Forks for Change hosted an Hunger Banquet event aimed towards raising awareness of world hunger in the ASU student body. The following videos are products of hours of tedious editing of The Hunger Banquet, that is geared towards bringing world hunger awareness to viewers and also provide viewers media coverage of the event.

Meeting Highlights: Introduced Ashoka Conference to all members, fine tuning some details on the STAND UP Event at ASU, Introducing background on New Organizational Member – Lula Washington Dance Theatre and also New Advisory Board Members, and finally discussing upcoming Club Events.

Fritz is the new meeting coordinator, filling in for Osee while he is away. The first point we briefly touched on was the ASHOKA U Conference. Dr. Wosinski recently put in a workshop application for this and we will hear back later this month whether our proposal has been accepted or not. The Team that was proposed to be presenting this workshop was - Dr. Wosinski, Osee, Mohamed Camara, Fritz, and Abidah (Me). The conference is going to take place in February 2012 at ASU.

Meeting Highlights: In this meeting we discussed plans to invite new members, individual and organizational, and also what the best way to go about this is. We also briefly touched upon upcoming events.
