Meeting Purpose: Working meeting for new leadership team interns to get acquainted with the UCP-SARnet website.
Date: January 27, 2012
Time: 9am – 11am

This meeting took place in the Computing Commons Room 127. Dorav worked the main computer screen while each of us followed along on our laptops and added in comments. We spent the entire time going over as many features of the website that we could show to the new interns during the allotted time:

  1. Went over the Gmail, Facebook and Twitter accounts and how to login to each  (Feel free to follow us on Twitter and "like" both Forks for Change & UCP-SARnet on Facebook)
  2. Briefly explained what information each tab on the website relates to i.e going to the "Blogs" tab, any UCP-SARnet members can add blog articles or read already posted articles. Only some of these blogs show up directly on the homepage.
  3. Looked over the "Partners" tab on the website in a little more detail.
    1. The Knowledge Partners are all groups with free learning modules relevant to leadership skills and the MDGs; people can find out more on what they each have to offer by following links to the partner's respective websites.
    2. The Organizational Members are all organizations in the United States and around the globe that are dedicated to one or more factors that are MDG-related. By having their platform on the UCP-SARnet website, their projects can be advertised to other organizations that either wish to do something similar or wish to partner and help out. We hope that our organizational members can assign Regional Coordinators for UCP-SARnet since they are better situated to accomplish MDG-supporting projects in each of their regions.
    3. Next we looked at the Site Map which is reachable from the homepage and we navigated to the Working Space of the leadership team - only executive team members can access information in this space.
    4. After looking at various features and folders in the working space we specifically talked about the Task Reports that we each should fill out indicating our weekly plans, the status of various projects, and the time it takes to accomplish our different tasks.
    5. Finally, Mohammed mentioned to the group about the Forks for Change 1st event of the semester which is a "Meet and Greet" focused on informing the exclusively invited organizations about the "It Takes One" initiative that will happen in April during National Volunteer Week. The "Meet and Greet" is on Tuesday, January 31st from 5pm-8pm and any executive team members that can help out let Mohamed know.

We closed the meeting with reminders about some of the assignments we each need to work on this week in regards to the Club, the Summit, and various other tasks.

(Thank You for the Donuts Fritz =) )
