Most of the people  living on either side of the Angola-Nambia lack adquet access to clean drinkg water and sanitation. Longer years of armed conflict and decades of civil war has damaged existing water supply systems.  Now a 45 million dollar infrastructure upgrade is set to improve access to clean drinking water and decent sanitation for one million people. This project will substantially repair  infrastructures at the dam and the pipeline, upgrading the power supply to the motors that pump the water southwards and refurbishing of the pumps itself. Extra pipelines will be built to supply Ondjiva with fresh water and new power lines have to erected over many hundreds of kilometres to feed new pump installations. About 300,000 people in Southern Angola will  have access to safe and clean drinking water for the first time.

I am glad to hear this issue of clean water being addressed, this is definitely a step in the right direction to insure safe drinking water for everyone.
