Chris obtained his B.S. in psychology in the fall of 2006 from Arizona State University. He has strong interests in global community issues and after graduate school he plans to work for an international organization addressing social issues such as international conflict resolution, sustainable economic development, education policy, and human rights.  As Sudanese-American Chris is especially interested in socio-economic issues of Africa and peace sustainability in Sudan.  He speaks English, French, Sudanese Arabic, Zande, and Lingala.  Visiting many countries (Central African Republic, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Belgium, Poland, Puerto Rico, and Colombia) made him sensitive to cultural diversity and multicultural communication.

Chris has been involved in community in various ways. He has worked at Ironwood Elementary School as part of the America Reads & Counts program designed to improve literacy and mathematics skills by building confidence, competence, and independence in children.  As a Social Change Advocate, Chris has also contributed to bringing awareness to problems in Sudan.  In 2007, he was one of the student organizers of the Day of Remembrance for Darfur Day, which managed to collect thousands of petitions to pressure legislators to pass a bill on sending UN Peacekeepers to Sudan to stop the genocide.  Other involvements include helping the Southern Sudanese Women Empowerment Network to organize various events to bring awareness to the women's cause and raise funds for the organization.

Participation in First International conference on Community Psychology in Puerto Rico gave him an opportunity to make contacts with many members of SCRA, and in 2007 he became National Student Representative to the Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA).  In this role he has been involved in overseeing all Student Representative elections, submitting student program and budgetary requests, maintaining regular contact with and providing support to Student Regional Representatives (SRCs) in West, Rocky Mt., and Canada Regions, coordinating a blind, peer-review process for awarding Student Research Grant, recruiting members, editing publications such as the Community Student, and promoting Society for Community Research and Action.  Chris is also a Student Representative for MBA students at the European School of Economics and he reports directly to the Director of the School with feedback about areas in school that require modification and adjustments to suit students' needs.

While at ASU, Chris worked as a Studnet Coordinator at two annual Institutes on Community.  In this capacity, he videotaped and interviewed panelist and community leaders, gather material for usage in online instruction, and organized, recruited, publicized program of the institute.

Chris has participated in the development of UCP-SARnet from the moment the vision of the network was born, first as an Assistant then an Associate Editor.  He was responsible for building the network of collaborators, producing new materials for Newsletter, editing content on the platform, maintaining contact among members of Editorial Team, supervising work of Assistant Editors and keeping records of UCP-SARnet development.
